As always, the mezzanine level at the SIMS was filled with (not quite as many as last year) custom, vintage and out-of-the-ordinary bikes belonging to local riders. Here are just a few of them.

There seemed to be more mini-bikes than in the past. I especially liked the two matched sets of mini and maxi bikes (the orange ones are Yamahas and the black & silver ones are Hondas) and the "Roadsport" Honda Trail 70 (with upmarket suspension and smooth sporty tires. Really nicely done.

A few well-executed bobbers all in different styles. The stretched out Ducati Monster looked to have a seat height of all of about 20". The middle one is almost a mini bike and a bobber at the same time. It's a 1974 Honda XL250 which started its life as a Scrambler but has been reborn as a fifties style street bobber, but at about three-quarter scale. The one with the green frame is a 1966 Triumph T120 and it's the kind of bike that makes people who've never ridden a hardtail say stupid stuff like "I want a hardtail." All form, no function. Nice form, though.
I thought this Philippines style stainless steel sidecar (bolted to, and dwarfing, a 150cc Kawasaki) looked like a robot head. But maybe it's just me.
